A Funny Thing Happened on the way to an App

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to an App will be presented by PaCER Research Leads Jean Miller, BScN, MA, PhD and Sylvia Teare, BScN, Med at the Accelerating Primary Care Conference in Calgary at the Hyatt Regency on November 17th from 10:45-11:45am and  November 18th from 9:00-10:00am.

When patients play a role in managing their care the results can be impressive. The authors of this work engaged patients in the project right from the beginning in both participant and researcher roles and the input shaped the direction of both the research and the result: a risk management tool for early knee osteoarthritis. The tool supports self-management and lifestyle changes necessary to help limit the disease's progression. Learn about this knowledge translation study and hear how the findings have led to the development of a tool that also strengthens the communication and crucially the understanding between family physicians and their KOA patients. Attendees of this session will be able to utilize the co-design methodology that was used to develop other self-management applications.
